Position Summary:

Maxim is searching for an experienced plasma etch process engineer to support plasma process development and transfer in a high volume manufacturing fab located in San Antonio, TX.  A qualified candidate will have excellent “hands on” experience with Lam plasma etcher tools and experience developing etch processes at the 0.35 um and 0.18 um technology nodes. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Process development and improvement of 0.18um plasma etch processes on AMAT and Lam tools
  • Work closely with process integration engineers to improve process metrics including: SPC, yield, and defect density
  • Work with etch equipment engineering to improve uptime, costs, and tool utilization.
  • Troubleshoot process and tool excursions as needed
  • Implement advanced process control to improve Cpk at critical levels
  • Identify cost savings opportunities and drive projects to reduce costs

Requirements:
  • PhD degree with 3 5 years fab experience or MS with > 5 years experience will be considered 
  • Strong Statistics with Excel and JMP skills (SPC and DOE)
  • Hands on experience with plasma etch tools (Lam 9600DFM, Lam 9400DFM, Lam 4520XL, TEL DRM, AMAT platforms) 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • In depth understanding of plasma etch techniques and process characterization
  • Good understanding of device physics and process architecture
  • High degree of discipline with the ability to multi-task and drive multiple projects simultaneously
  • Understand cycle time, process flows, and material management
  • The ability to analyze problems and develop effective solutions
