Position Summary:

Maxim is searching for a Senior/MTS level Photo engineer to support lithography process development and transfer in a high volume manufacturing Bi-CMOS Fab located in San Antonio, TX.  A qualified candidate will have excellent "hands on" experience with scanner and track tools and experience with the development of lithography processes at the 0.35 and 0.18 um technology nodes. 

  • Process transfer of a 0.18um process on a Canon ES3 and Tel Act 8.  Oversee start up of the 248nm Tel Act 8 Track tools.    
  • Process development of 248nm DUV photo layers:  Gate, holes, metals, STI, implants, etc.
  • Work closely with process integration engineers to improve process metrics including:  SPC, yield, and defects.
  • Work with equipment engineering to improve uptime and tool utilization.
  • Troubleshoot process and tool excursions.
  • Lead a group of photo engineers and specialists.
  • Implement advanced process control (APC) to improve Cpk at critical levels.
  • Identify cost savings opportunities and drive projects to reduce overall costs.
  • PhD degree with > 5 years Fab experience or BS/MS with > 7 years experience will be considered.  
  • Strong statistics with Excel and JMP skills (SPC and DOE).
  • I-line and DUV Track experience with strong photo chemical knowledge.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Hands-on experience with lithography tools:  Tel Act8, DNS80B, Canon i4, i5+, Canon ES3, Hitachi CD SEMS, KLA5200, UV1280. 
  • In depth understanding of photolithography techniques and process characterization:  ARC films, resist and developer chemistry, stepper optics, cd/overlay, Photo related defects, OPC, Lithography modeling, alignment strategy and components of overlay errors.
  • Good understanding of device physics and device architecture.
  • High degree of discipline with the ability to multi-task and drive multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Understand cycle time, process flows and material management.
  • The ability to analyze problems and develop effective solutions.
