Position Summary:

Maxim is looking for an execution-focused Director candidate to manage the worldwide assembly operations group.  This is a high profile leadership position within Maxim that requires a combination of management experience, cross-functional leadership skills, and a thorough understanding of outsourced semiconductor/electronics manufacturing. This position would be responsible for all operations-related activities across Maxim’s external assembly partners including management of assembly capacity, cycle time, loading and production execution, and product allocation.  Maxim has a very broad product and package portfolio and the candidate should be able to achieve world class performance across both high volume and low volume products.   The position will require the development and implementation of assembly strategies that lower cycle time, improve forecast accuracy, and maximize loading efficiency at strategic assembly subcontractor partners. As Maxim continues to achieve industry leading growth, this role will also be responsible for implementing enhancements to Maxim’s planning and reporting systems that allow operations performance to scale with the business growth.  The position will manage teams across multiple geographies including the US and overseas.  The candidate will work collaboratively with other Operations and Maxim stakeholders (Business units, Supply Chain, Test, Finance, etc.) on strategic projects that drive towards achieving overall operational excellence and position Maxim as a trusted source for our customers.  Our group (and the challenges we face) are growing and we are looking for people who can be leaders for their responsibilities and can demonstrate rigorous execution and ownership. 

Responsibilities:
- Lead both US and overseas assembly operations groups responsible for assembly planning, capacity allocation, forecasting, material management, cycle time, and production control
- Set aggressive operational goals and work with the teams and stakeholders to develop and implement strategies to achieve world class operational performance and improve Maxim’s capability to meet customer commitments
- Partner with assembly subcontractors to secure appropriate levels of production capacity to meet Maxim’s volume requirements
- Collaborates with leaders across Maxim’s business units and peer manufacturing organizations (fab, test, supply chain, etc)  to improve Maxim’s overall operational performance
- Champions improvements to Maxim’s assembly and planning systems and processes that increases the overall efficiency and productivity of the assembly operations group
- Develop and manage analytics-driven processes for quarterly subcontractor vendor allocation
- Develop and manage business continuity strategies
- Stay current with package technologies and the impact to operations processes
- Develop innovative solutions to solve complex challenges and create processes can differentiate Maxim’s operational performance
- Recruit and retain high caliber talent into the organization and  effectively motivate the assembly organization  to achieve high standards in performance
- Instill a culture of ownership and execution to the operations team

Requirements:
- Experience with managing operations
for a very large and diverse product portfolio
- Experience with
managing a team with a large number of complex ongoing projects and
activities
- Experience with defining a strategic vision and
translating that vision into executable activities
- Excellent
analytical problem solving skills
- Experience with ERP, MES,
PLM, and Supply Chain planning systems
- Semiconductor package
engineering experience is strongly preferred
- Track record of
driving productivity improvements through continuous process and
system improvements
- Must be able to work across functional
boundaries to gather information needed to understand problems, have
the ability to leverage cross-functional teams, and motivate a team
environment.
- Proven strong people management and motivational
skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills

At least 10 years of experience in the semiconductor industry with a
history of success in taking on assignments with progressively higher
levels of responsibility
- At least 5 years of people
management experience
- At least 5 years experience managing
outsourced semiconductor/electronics manufacturing operations

Education: Bachelors/Masters degree in Engineering or related
field
