Maxim's San Antonio Fab is seeking a Process Engineer to to be
assigned to the Wet Etch area for process transfer and improvement in
a high volume manufacturing fab located in San Antonio, TX. A
qualified candidate will be self-motivated, have strong technical and
analytical skills, and posses a practical, hands-on approach to
engineering problems. Job Description: - Responsible for development
and sustaining of semiconductor processes in a high volume
manufacturing plant. - Implement new semiconductor manufacturing
processes using design of experiments (DOE). - Selection,
qualification and improvement of semiconductor processing tools. -
Monitor fab metrics with statistical process control (SPC) - Root
cause investigation of discrepant material. - Generate, execute and
implement yield and defect improvement projects. - Write operating
specifications and provide technical training to wafer fab personnel.
- Work with equipment engineering to improve uptime and tool
utilization. - Troubleshoot process and tool excursions. - Identify
cost savings opportunities and drive projects to reduce overall
- Completed Ph.D. degree in engineering or science, preferably in
Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science,
Physics or Chemistry. Strong candidates with an M.S. degree may also
be considered for the position. - Demonstrated above average GPA. GPA
greater than 3.5 is preferable. - Highly desirable coursework should
include semiconductor processing technology, device physics, and
statistics. However, consideration may be given to strong candidates
with studies or knowledge in wet chemistry, solvent/surface
interactions, reaction engineering, thin films, surface science. -
Hands-on experience with semiconductor fabrication tools inside clean
room environment is a plus. - Excellent verbal and written
communication skills. - Candidates must be able to communicate with
audiences at any technical level. - Must be dependable and should be
highly motivated. - Ability to work and communicate with equipment
engineering to improve the area. - This position requires an
adaptable, detail oriented practical thinker and problem solver who
is a quick learner and who has the ability to manage multiple
projects simultaneously. - Strong problem solving and data analysis
skills for troubleshooting. - Strong computer skills. Maxim is an
