Position Summary:

This position involves the preventative and corrective maintenance of the CMP tool sets found in the CMP area. The CMP Tool set includes, AMAT Mirra, Lam/Ontrak Synergy Scrubbers, Strasbaugh 6DS-SP and Symphony CMP tools.  Area also includes BCDS systems for Slurry and chemicals used in CMP scrubber tools. Individual will be required to cross train within the area as time goes on.


Duties of Position:

  • Perform routine PMs and Maintenance as required.
  • Create/Modify Procedures and PM specifications as needed to improve tool availability or enhance training of other technicians.
  • Order consumable and non-consumable parts for tools as assigned.
  • Use SPC to trouble shoot issues or determine the health of tools in the area.
  • Excellent time and project management skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and follow up skills.
  • Maintain a clean working area during repairs and PMs.
  • Maintain CMP Slurry and BCDS tools.
  • Head rebuilds and Pad/Grid changes as required.
  • Manages the installation, maintenance and repair of semiconductor fabrication equipment in the area.
  • Create detailed tool configuration documentation, tool acceptance specs and assist with tool purchases for new process development or for adding capacity to the factory.
  • Tool owner responsible for PM tracking, PM success, Tool Finger Printing and support of Process Engineering and Tool availability to site goals.
  • Responsible for precise tracking of tool hardware consumable and non-consumable.
  • Responsible for Action Plans on tools which are down for > 12 hours or one of a kind.
  • Experience repairing electronic circuits, mechanical components and vacuum equipment; experience in physically measuring, tracing or debugging electronic circuits.
  • Monitor Equipment in the area and be familiar with issues and provide corrective action plans to management for resolution
  • Responsible for tracking and improving tool availability in the area.
  • Create/Modify Procedures and PM specifications as needed to improve tool availability or enhance training of other technicians.
  • Order consumable and non-consumable parts for tools as assigned.
  • Trouble shoot minor and complex tool issues to resolution.
  • Work with Process Engineering to optimize tool and process parameters.
  • Responsible for designing and implementing training programs and documentation for training Equipment Specialists.


  • Applicants must have a minimum of an AS degree in electronics.
  • A minimum of 10 years experience in a semiconductor manufacturing environment with a minimum of 5 years experience in Equipment Maintenance on the specified tool set above.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills, which includes verbal and written.
  • Must be proficient in MS office products and various OS platforms.
  • Must understand the concept of consumable and non-consumable parts costs associated with the job and know how to look for ways to reduce costs without affected tool or product performance.
  • Must have a basic knowledge of SPC and how it is used in the manufacturing environment.
