EPI Equipment Specialist (Compressed Night Shift)

Position Summary:

This position involves the preventative and corrective maintenance of the EPI tool sets found in the EPI area. The EPI Tool set includes ASM Epsilon 2000 tools and Applied Centura.  Area also includes Gas Delivery, exhaust abatement and quartz cleaning systems.  Individual will be required to cross train within the area as time goes on.  Experience with the ASM A400 furnace is a plus.


Duties of Position:

  • Perform routine PMs and Maintenance as required
  • Create/Modify Procedures and PM specifications as needed to improve tool availability or enhance training of other technicians
  • Order consumable and non-consumable parts for tools as assigned
  • Use SPC to trouble shoot issues or determine the health of tools in the area
  • Excellent time and project management skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and follow up skills
  • Maintain a clean working area during repairs and PMs
  • Maintain Gas Delivery systems and exhaust abatement tools in the area
  • Experience repairing electronic circuits, mechanical components and vacuum equipment; experience in physically measuring, tracing or debugging electronic circuits
  • Order consumable and non-consumable parts for tools as assigned
  • Trouble shoot minor and complex tool issues to resolution
  • Work with Process Engineering to optimize tool and process parameters
  • Applicants must have a minimum of an AS degree in electronics
  • A minimum of 10 years experience in a semiconductor-manufacturing environment with a minimum of 5 years experience in Equipment Maintenance on the EPI tool sets specified in the general section
  • Must possess excellent communication skills, which includes verbal and written
  • Must be proficient in MS office products and various OS platforms
  • Must understand the concept of consumable and non-consumable parts costs associated with the job and look for ways to reduce costs without affecting tool or product performance
  • Must have an advanced knowledge of SPC and know how it is used and implemented in the manufacturing environment.
  • This position will work a compressed work week overnight either the front end or back end of the week, which requires working either Saturday or Sunday.  Must be willing and able to work any shift as needed.
