Maxim's Systems
Applications Engineering Americas is seeking an Applications Engineer
to provide technical support and system design consultation for all
Maxim’s released products at San Jose, CA.

Systems Applications Engineer is responsible for providing technical
support to customers, field applications engineers, and the company's
sales staff for all released products. Responsibilities include: />
1. Provide support in a pre-sales through post-sales
2. Provides, presents and interprets design,
application and service information.
3. Develops and tests
innovative circuit solutions for a variety of products as customer
needs arise, including linear circuits and switching power supplies.

This is a highly visible position, developing custom
PCBs, software and design tools, and application notes to make our
products known and viewed as the best-supported and easiest to use in
the marketplace. The candidate must be a self-starter, and given
direction, work with little supervision to accomplish the tasks
required. The candidate must work well in a team environment with
engineers from varied and diverse fields and backgrounds. The
Applications Engineer must be personable and comfortable speaking and
presenting to people at several different levels of technical

Primary deliverables will be customer support
by e-mail and telephone, generating application notes or articles
describing approaches to solving demanding analog problems, based on
simulation and/or rapid prototyping of circuits, boards, and systems.
• BSEE or MSEE with emphasis on analog design (ADCs, DACs, op
amps, linear and switch-mode power supplies)
• Good
communication skills, both spoken and written
• Working
knowledge of electrical engineering lab test equipment

Experience programming in C and LabView, and familiarity with
embedded systems is preferred
• SPICE simulation
experience is also a positive
