We are searching for a Senior/MTS level Thin Films Engineer to lead the area for process transfer and improvement in a high volume manufacturing Fab located in San Antonio, TX.  Maxim San Antonio is a growing manufacturing site, delivering Maxim's proprietary BCD processes with high quality, low cost, and excellent cycle times.  A qualified candidate will have excellent process and equipment hands-on experience and knowledge of the different chamber configurations used for the various thin films included in the 0.35 and 0.18 um node.

  • Take ownership of the area, and lead by establishing the direction for improvements, sustaining and overall operation.
  • Lead a group of process specialists in projects and daily sustaining activities.
  • Team with process and integration engineers to achieve first-pass success of technology transfers.   
  • Ensure matching of newly installed equipment to support production ramp.
  • Work closely with process integration engineers to improve process metrics, including SPC, yield, parametrics, and defects.
  • Work with equipment engineering to improve up-time and tool utilization. 
  • Implement advanced process control to improve Cpk at critical levels.
  • Identify cost savings opportunities and drive projects to reduce overall costs.
  • PhD or MS degree with > 5 years Fab experience will be considered. 
  • Proven strong skills in statistics, SPC, DOE and data analysis techniques.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Hands-on experience with thin film deposition tools as well as metrology.
  • Good understanding of thin films basics, applications, and deposition and characterization techniques.
  • Good understanding of device physics and device architecture.
  • High degree of discipline, and organization with the ability to multi-task and drive multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Understand cycle time, process flows and material management.
  • Ability to analyze problems and lead the area towards the development of effective solutions.
