Technology Development and Innovation department is seeking an
entry-level simulation engineer to work with design and development
engineers on thermal mechanical modeling of advanced products. The
tasks include the use of FEM tools to simulate the thermal and
mechanical performance of advanced 3D package structures at Maxim's
San Jose, CA campus. Our 3D Wafer Level Packaging group is expanding
and looking for a thermal mechanical simulation engineer with strong
technical skills to innovate new technologies. The individual will
work in a cross-functional team with Design, Development and Process
Engineers defining Maxim’s next generation of products. For the
detail oriented, self-motivated engineer this is an exciting
opportunity. You must have strong written and oral communication
skills, understanding of thermal mechanical behavior of materials
used in IC packaging. Responsibilities are to perform early thermal
mechanical simulations and make recommendations to the team.
• Work with Design, Development and Process Engineers in a
multi-disciplinary environment
• Problem-solving by
defining and analyzing simulation results

Responsibilities include detailed written reports and recommendations

• Project management skills
• Masters or PhD in
Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science or Physics

Graduate student courses required: Thermodynamics, Heat Transfer />• Must have experience on CFD and FEM simulation tools />• Software Skills: Cadence, ANSYS Mechanical, Fluent and
ICE-Pak experience preferred
